How it works
Choose the material and purchase method. Bag cost uses whole packages; bulk cost uses volume with your extra allowance. Add delivery plus hours multiplied by hourly rate. Tax applies to material, delivery and labor together, and contingency is applied to the total after tax. Currency changes the display label without exchange-rate conversion.
Example
The default mulch project uses 25 bags at 5 each. Add delivery of 20 and two hours at 30: subtotal is 205. At 10% tax, tax is 20.50; a 5% contingency after tax is 11.275, giving 236.775 before display rounding. Set tax and contingency to suit your estimate; this is not a contractor quote.
Assumptions and limitations
Prices, density, depth and seed rate are examples. Replace them with your measurements and supplier quote.
Frequently asked questions
Are my measurements uploaded?
No. The calculators run in your browser and save numeric settings locally. Plans are not synchronized across devices. Clearing site data removes the saved plan.
Why are bag and bulk quantities different?
Both start with the same volume including your allowance. Bags round up to complete packages, which can leave surplus. Bulk cost uses the unrounded volume; suppliers may impose separate minimum orders or delivery increments.
Does switching units change my project?
No. Physical values are stored in meters, cubic meters and kilograms. Switching to feet, inches and pounds converts the displayed values and price unit. Switching currency does not convert prices.
