Prices, density, depth and seed rate are examples. Replace them with your measurements and supplier quote.

Density varies by material, moisture and compaction. Confirm with your supplier; weight is an estimate.

How it works

Volume is net area multiplied by layer depth. Estimated weight is buffered volume multiplied by the density you enter. The default 1600 kg/m³ is an editable example, not a universal value. Moisture, grading and compaction change density; request the loose or delivered density appropriate to your quote. Bulk pricing is per cubic meter or cubic yard, not per tonne.

Example

A 5 × 3 m area at 5 cm needs 0.75 m³ before allowance. With 10% extra it becomes 0.825 m³. At the example density of 1600 kg/m³, estimated weight is 1320 kg. This does not calculate a structural base design, vehicle payload or compaction specification.

Frequently asked questions

Are my measurements uploaded?

No. The calculators run in your browser and save numeric settings locally. Plans are not synchronized across devices. Clearing site data removes the saved plan.

Why are bag and bulk quantities different?

Both start with the same volume including your allowance. Bags round up to complete packages, which can leave surplus. Bulk cost uses the unrounded volume; suppliers may impose separate minimum orders or delivery increments.

Does switching units change my project?

No. Physical values are stored in meters, cubic meters and kilograms. Switching to feet, inches and pounds converts the displayed values and price unit. Switching currency does not convert prices.
